Baldwin City, Kan. - The Central Methodist Track & Field program opened outdoor season at the Baker Relays Saturday in Baldwin City, Kan.
The event, hosted by Baker University, featured hundreds of athletes from nine different institutions.
On the women's side, freshman Natalie Garr placed third in the 400m run with a new personal best time of 1:00.78. Renee Finke finished second in the 100m Hurdles in a time of 15.62. She also placed second in the high jump at 1.59 meters.
Amara Reichert took home first place in the pole vault with a mark of 2.74 meters. Sarah Johnson placed third in the long jump with a mark of 5.14 meters.
Junior Karli Wolfe posted a third place finish in the shot put with a throw of 11.07 meters. Wolfe also threw a new personal best of 43.70 meters in the Hammer Throw to finish third.
Kali Brown placed fourth in the discuss with a throw of 37.98 meters.
For the CMU men, Colder Evans and Josh Henderson went 1-2 in the men's discuss with throws of 48.57 and 46.62 meters respectively. Evans' throw hit the NAIA National Qualifying 'B' standard. In addition, Evans won the Hammer Throw with a toss of 51.56 meters.
Brayton Stephenson won the shot put with a throw of 14.71 meters.
Chris Brown finished third in the 100m dash in a time of 11.80. Jaxon Hiser earned a second place standing in the pole vault with a vault of 4.11 meters.
Jamel Jones competed in the triple jump, placing second with a mark of 13.50 meters.
Central will host the CMU Invite next weekend beginning Friday, March 31 at 10:00 a.m. at Davis Field.
