Kansas City, Mo. - After an outstanding showing at the conference championships this past week, Central Methodist senior thrower Taylor Bottomley was named the Heart Men's Field Athlete of the Meet Monday afternoon.
This marks the second-straight year an Eagle has earned the award, as Hayden Hackman was honored in 2021.
Bottomley, a native from Harrisburg, Mo, was the highest point scorer at the 2022 Heart Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship with 28 points.
He won the hammer throw with a mark of 56.11m and the shot put with a toss of 16.29m, hitting the NAIA 'A' standard in both events. He wrapped up the championship with a second place finish in the discus, at 51.65m.
Bottomley led the Central men to a second-place finish at this year's championships.
