Warrensburg, Mo. - The Central Methodist track and field programs competed at the University of Central Missouri Mule Relays Friday afternoon in Warrensburg, Mo.
Junior Keiara-Ashley Cunningham broke the school record in the 400m hurdles in 1:02.31, hitting the 'A' standard for the national championships in Gulf Shores. Her time is currently the fourth best in the NAIA this season.
Sophomore sprinter Kailey Johnson posted a third place finish in the finals of 100m hurdles with a time of 14.50. Dayana Montenegro competed in the 800m run, and ran a time of 2:16.98, just missing the national qualifying standard by .98.
Senior thrower Taylor Bottomley finished fourth in the men's shot put with a throw of 15.91 meters. He also placed seventh in the discus with a throw of 50.57 meters.
Central will next compete in the Georgia Tech Invite beginning Friday, April 22 in Atlanta, Ga., in addition to the Wildcat Open hosted by Culver-Stockton College Saturday, April 23 in Canton, Mo.
