Kansas City, Mo. - After a solid outing at the CMU Invite this past weekend, reigning Heart Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week Taylor Bottomley has been named the NAIA National Men's Field Athlete of the Week.
Bottomley, who also earned NAIA Indoor Athlete of the Week honors on Feb. 24, had a stellar showing at the CMU Invite.
The senior from Harrisburg, Mo. continues his record-breaking season, as he broke the school record in the men's hammer throw with a final toss of 55.88 meters on day one of the CMU Invite. He improved his national qualifying mark to earn a first-place finish.
On day two, he broke another school record, this time in the shot put with a final toss of 16.43 meters. The throw was also good enough to hit the 'A' standard to qualify for nationals.
CMU track & field will be back in action on Saturday, April 10 for the Lincoln Open in Jefferson City, Mo.
