Competitive Cheer

Terin Fuemmeler enters her eighth year as the Head Coed Cheerleading Coach at Central Methodist University in 2019-20.

The competitive cheer team, under Fuemmeler’s direction, is coming off its first appearance at the NAIA Competitive Cheer National Championships, bringing home 8th place in March 2019. For her coaching prowess, Fuemmeler was named Heart Coach of the Year. In 2015 and 2016, the CMU cheerleaders won back-to-back Heart Co-Ed Cheer Championships.

For the first five years of her Central coaching career, she also coached the competitive dance team, which reached the NAIA national championship in her final season.

Prior to joining Central, Fuemmeler owned and operated Starmakers Studio, a performing arts studio specializing in dance, cheer, and tumble, for four years. She was also the varsity cheer coach at Glasgow High School, guiding the team to two state championships in its division.

A 2007 graduate of the University of Kansas, Fuemmeler was a member of the KU Spirit Squad and the KU competition team. She was a part of three top-five national finishes at the UDA Nationals in Orlando, Fla. During her senior year, Fuemmeler was a Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleader, performing at every home Chiefs game, while also being featured on the cover of the 2006-07 Chiefs Cheerleaders Swimsuit Calendar.

A native of Olathe, Kan., Fuemmeler is a 2003 graduate of Olathe North High School. She was a member of the varsity dance team all four years, while also training at Starstruck PAC. While competing with her high school dance team and the Starstuck competition team, Terin was a part of numerous nationally winning routines. While competing at Starpower nationals in Las Vegas in July 2003, Terin auditioned to be a dancer for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. She was one of a handful of dancers offered a contract on the spot.

Terin and her husband Josh live in Armstrong, Mo., with their four children.
