OLATHE, Kan. - The Central Methodist University competitive cheer team finished as the runner-up at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles were sitting in second after nailing the preliminary round, collecting a prelim score of 71.95. A second stellar performance in the final round gave the squad a final score of 73.86, placing them in second behind Missouri Valley's final total of 78.65.
Five athletes from Central were named to the All-Conference roster following the event: Jerome Asbury (SR/Kansas City, Mo.), Bethany DuCharme (SR/Columbia, Mo.), Josh Hearst (SO/Orlando, Fla.), Ashleigh Olguin (FR), and Isabella Sizemore (SO/Pacific, Mo.).
The Eagles are set to return to the mat in their home debut on Sunday, February 23rd, at the CMU Invitational.
