KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two student-athletes were named 2019 NAIA Competitive Cheer All-Americans, the national office announced Tuesday.
Jerome Asbury (JR/Kansas City, Mo.) and Madeline Burgess (SR/Cedar Hill, Mo) received the honor for the second straight year.
After finishing second in both the Heart Conference Championship and the Southeast Regional Qualifier, Central Methodist qualified for the 2019 NAIA Competitive Cheer National Championship via an at-large berth. It's the first time the Eagles have qualified for nationals in the three-year history of the championship.
Central Methodist will be one of 12 programs competing at nationals. The event takes place March 8-9 at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.
