Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist University spirit squad took part in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Spirit Championships this past Saturday inside of Puckett Field House. After an error in the score tallying procedure was noticed, the conference updated the scores with a few changes to the final results. In Co-Ed Cheer, MidAmerica Nazarene University moved into third place, while Graceland University fell a spot to fourth place. In the overall scores, Central Methodist University moved to first place, with Avila University dropping to second place.

"I couldn't be more proud of the CMU cheer and dance competition teams," said CMU spirit squad head coach Terin Fuemmeler."Both cheer and dance performed and executed their routines to near perfection.The atmosphere inside of Puckett on Saturday was incredible and I am certain it added the extra drive and determination that both cheer and dance needed that day."

Even after all of the changes, Avila University still claimed the Overall Championship. Central Methodist University won the Overall Cheer Championship. Full results are listed below from this past Saturday's competition.

The Spirit Squad returns to competition on Saturday February 20^th, when they travel to Lindenwood University in Belleville, Illinois to take part in the NAIA Regional Qualifier.

"We are looking forward to competing again on February 20th at Lindenwood-Belleville for the NAIA North Regional Qualifier," added Fuemmeler. "We are ready to put in the work these next two weeks to ensure we have another very successful competition."
