Kansas City, Mo. - For the first time this season, Central Methodist sophomore right hander Clayton Burke was tabbed as the Heart Baseball Pitcher of the Week by the conference office.
The native of Portland, Ore. threw six scoreless innings in the series finale against Missouri Valley College Saturday night. Burke allowed no runs on just one hit with five strikeouts en-route to his sixth win of 2023.
Central would go on to win game four, 11-0, and claim the series 3-1.
Burke and the Eagles will next host Park University for a four-game series beginning Saturday, April 22 at 1:00 p.m. at Estes Field. It will also mark senior weekend for the program.
