KANSAS CITY, Mo. ---- Kyle Fulton from the Central Methodist baseball team was recognized by the Heart of America Athletic Conference as the Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the first time this year.
Fulton improved to 5-0 on the year with the win over Avila. Central Methodist won the series three games to one. Fulton hurled his fourth complete game of the year, and his second shutout of the season. He added five strikeouts as well.
On the year, Fulton ranks nationally in six different categories. Third in total earned runs allowed (5), third in ERA (0.99), fifth in total runs allowed (7), 22 in hits allowed per nine (5.96), 37 in opponent batting average (.194) and 42 in saves (4). He has thrown 45.1 innings on the year and has 50 strikeouts.
"Kyle has worked hard over the last three years to become a complete pitcher. We will need him to continue to progress in order to reach our goals," head coach Nate Breland mentioned about Fulton.
Fulton and the baseball team will return to action on Thursday, April 5, when they travel to Marshall, Mo. to begin a four-game Heart series with Missouri Valley College. The opening doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. The series will be finished in Marshall on Saturday, April 7.
