Fayette, Mo. Central Methodist University head baseball coach Nate Breland announced Monday, the signing of middle infielder Riley Richarz (Brookfield, Wisc.). Richarz signs with CMU, after previously attending McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Richarz is the sixth player to sign with CMU this offseason, and second from McHenry County College; joining Matt Tegtmeier.
"Riley (Richarz) is an outstanding middle infielder with great speed," said CMU head baseball coach Nate Breland. "He finished 12th in the country in stolen bases this season. He had a great year for McHenry County College, and led them to a 50 win season and a finish at the Junior College World Series."
Riley Richarz will begin his junior year of school this upcoming fall at Central Methodist University. Richarz spent the first two years of his college life at McHenry County College. This past season, Richarz finished his sophomore season with a .405 batting average. Richarz finished with 60 hits, 54 runs scored, 40 RBI's, and 35 stolen bases.
"I can't wait to see what CMU is all about," said Riley Richarz. "Going from the JUCO World Series in Enid, Oklahoma, to Lewiston, Idaho is my goal. I am ready to make another World Series run."
