Fayette, Mo. Central Methodist University head baseball coach Nate Breland announced the signing of pitcher Jeffrey Castillo (Bronx, NY) on Friday. Castillo signs with CMU, after previously attending Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the last two years.

"Jeffrey (Castillo) has an explosive arm," said CMU head baseball coach Nate Breland. "He is a motivated individual, who works hard and will strive for excellence. He is a strong addition to our pitching staff."

Jeffrey Castillo will be a redshirt sophomore for the Eagles in 2016-17. Castillo is coming off of Tommy John Surgery from two years ago. Castillo last pitched in 2014, when he appeared in five games; all starts for Kirkwood Community College. Castillo finished with a 2-2 record, and tossed a complete game once. He threw 20 innings, while allowing 18 runs; 12 earned on 15 hits, with 10 strikeouts and 16 walks. He finished the 2014 season with a 5.40 ERA.
