"Jeffrey (Castillo) has an explosive arm," said CMU head baseball coach Nate Breland. "He is a motivated individual, who works hard and will strive for excellence. He is a strong addition to our pitching staff."

Jeffrey Castillo will be a redshirt sophomore for the Eagles in 2016-17. Castillo is coming off of Tommy John Surgery from two years ago. Castillo last pitched in 2014, when he appeared in five games; all starts for Kirkwood Community College. Castillo finished with a 2-2 record, and tossed a complete game once. He threw 20 innings, while allowing 18 runs; 12 earned on 15 hits, with 10 strikeouts and 16 walks. He finished the 2014 season with a 5.40 ERA.
