PERU, Neb. - Central Methodist lost a pair of games Monday in Heart of America Athletic Conference action at Peru State (Neb.). The Eagles lost game one 5-2 and the second affair 7-5 at Centennial Complex Field.

Peru State (17-7, 7-1) scored the first run in game one in the first inning when Joshua Alonzo crossed home on an Eagles' error. The Bobcats would add another run in the frame and get what proved to be the deciding run in the third when Brandon Melendez scored on an RBI single.�

After Peru State tacked on runs in the fourth and fifth innings, Central Methodist (14-11, 4-4) jumped on the scoreboard in the seventh when Hayden McMillon and Mike D'Eletto scored with two outs on a Bobcats' error. However, a strikeout in the next at-bat ended the rally.

Seth Walston had two hits and two runs batted in for Peru State.

Four Eagles each had one hit.

Manny Arciniega went the distance on the mound for the win, allowing two unearned runs on four hits with seven strikeouts and three walks.

Pitcher Jalen Miller suffered the loss, giving up two earned runs on one hit with a strikeout and five walks in an inning and one-third.

The Eagles erased a 4-0 deficit with five runs in the top of the fourth inning of game two. Brad Cuyos scored the visitor's first run on an error. Aldo Adamus crossed home on an Austin Fridley sacrifice fly in the next at-bat. A C.J. Regan single allowed Brennan Hurley and Joba Ferrell to score to tie the affair. Regan then scored the go-ahead run on a Chance Sugg RBI single to right.

However, Peru State's Adam Quintana led off the bottom half-inning with a solo shot to left to tie the game, and the Bobcats pushed two runs across in the sixth to take the lead for good, with Quintana scoring the deciding run on an error.

Quintana had two hits and two runs scored. Randy Santiesteban had four RBIs.

Sugg had two hits. Five different Eagles scored a run, and four different players drove in a run.

Timothy Patterson got the win on the mound with two and two-third innings of one-hit, scoreless relief with a walk. Miguel Navarro got the save with an inning out of the bullpen, giving up one hit with a strikeout.

D'Eletto took the loss, giving up seven runs, five earned, on five hits with four strikeouts and three walks in six innings.

Central Methodist travels to Avila (Mo.) for a doubleheader on Saturday. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. CT.
