LEWISTON, Idaho - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Wednesday afternoon that Central Methodist's Alex Hunter, Brian King, Seth Luttrell, Eric Smurl and Jonathan Zanaboni are among 257 student-athletes that have been named to the 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Baseball Scholar-Athlete list.
Hunter and King earn the honor for a second-straight campaign.�
Hunter is a redshirt junior pitcher from Kansas City, Mo. King, who hails from Springfield, Mo., is a senior infielder. Luttrell is a junior infielder from Iberia, Mo. Smurl is a junior outfielder from Wright City, Mo. Zanaboni is a junior catcher who comes from Marionville, Mo.
Hastings (Neb.) leads all institutions with 11 individuals on the list.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
