About Central Methodist:
Central Methodist enters this weekend's four-game series with a 20-10 overall record and 16-6 mark in HAAC play. The Eagles, who have lost three straight games, are 7-3 in their last 10 and in first place overall in the HAAC by one game over the East's Evangel (Mo.) and West's Peru State (Neb.).
Central Methodist is 6-2 at Estes Field this season.
About Culver-Stockton:
Culver-Stockton enters this weekend's series with a 23-20 overall record and 12-10 mark in HAAC play. The Wildcats, who have won two straight games and reside in third place in the Eastern Division, are four games back of the Eagles.
Culver-Stockton is 12-12 in away games this season.
Magic Number to Clinch: Three
First place overall in the HAAC and Eastern Division is up for grabs in this weekend's series. By virtue of Evangel's two losses Thursday to Graceland (Iowa), if the Eagles win three games, they clinch the HAAC and Eastern Division titles. The Eagles would win the Eastern Division for the first time since the league split into two divisions in 2012 and the HAAC championship for the first time since 1975, clinching an automatic berth in the 2013 Avista-NAIA Baseball World Series, which starts with Opening Round play May 9-13.
Culver-Stockton can still claim at least a share of the Eastern Division title with four wins and two losses by Evangel (Mo.) to Graceland (Iowa).
Senior Day on Saturday
Central Methodist will recognize 10 seniors between games in Saturday's doubleheader.
Smith's Last Games at Estes
In addition to 10 seniors playing their final home games Saturday, Central Methodist coach Fred Smith, who announced his retirement effective at the end of this season, will lead the Eagles for the final time at Estes Field on Friday and Saturday.
