JOPLIN, Mo. - Central Methodist lost�to NCAA Division II Missouri Southern State 21-7 on Tuesday in non-conference action. The Lions (25-16)�have won three straight games, while the�Eagles (21-18) will conclude the regular season with four games at Culver-Stockton on April 28-29 before beginning play in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament.
Missouri Southern State led 12-2 after six innings before Central Methodist scored four runs in the top of the seventh. Dustin Ray hit a two-run double to left center field.�Marty Shaw�and Kyle Poynter scored on the play. Alfredo Souffront's two-run single to right field scored Ray and Neil Hansen.
Souffront added to his stat sheet a RBI double to right field in the top of the ninth inning to conclude the scoring in the game.
Jesse Kinzey (2-0) got the win for the Lions on the mound. He threw seven innnings, allowing six runs, four earned, on six hits.
Travis Tompson (1-2) suffered the loss. He gave up six earned runs on eight hits in three innings pitched.
