Arnette, Pledger Earn All-HAAC Baseball Honors

Arnette, Pledger Earn All-HAAC Baseball Honors
Junior Adam Arnette and sophomore Derrick Pledger were selected to the 2010 All-Heart of America Athletic Conference baseball teams announced Wednesday.

Arnette, a center fielder from Pacific, Mo., was named to the All-HAAC second team as an outfielder. Arnette led Central Methodist offensively with 44 hits, including team-highs of 10 doubles and six homeruns. He also led CMU with 26 RBIs, 30 runs scored and six stolen bases on the season. Arnette finished third on the team with a .367 batting average on the season. Playing center field, Arnette recorded 59 putouts and ended the season with a .924 fielding percentage.

Pledger, a third baseman from Clarksville, Ark., landed on the All-HAAC honorable mention as an extra infielder. Pledger finished the season with a CMU-best .373 batting average. He was also second on the team behind Arnette with 38 hits, including nine extra-base hits. Pledger also finished second on the team with 19 RBIs on the season. He had a .908 fielding percentage for the Eagles, and also pitched 12 innings for CMU this season.
