Marshall, Mo. - No. 18 CMU Women's Wrestling battled No. 10 Missouri Valley College in a tightly contested dual Tuesday night in Marshall, Missouri.

The Vikings edged the Eagles 28–21 in a matchup that featured three nationally ranked head-to-head bouts and several momentum swings throughout the evening.

Central opened the dual strong at 103 pounds as Mya Hairston secured a win by a 10-0 technical fall over Janessa Avila just over two minutes into the bout. Missouri Valley responded with back-to-back pins at 110 and 117 pounds, including a ranked showdown at 117 between No. 10 Zao Estrada and No. 12 Yusneiry Agrazal.

The Eagles responded in emphatic fashion at 124 with another ranked clash, as No. 14 Berlin Kiddoo pinned No. 10 Jasmina Immaeva in just over two minutes to swing momentum back toward CMU. Missouri Valley regained control with falls at 131 and 138, highlighted by No. 4 Serenity De La Garza's victory.

At 160, No. 2 Allyssa Johnson delivered a crucial pin for Central Methodist to keep the dual within reach. However, Missouri Valley picked up key points at 145 and in the third ranked matchup at 180, where No. 7 Autumn Perez defeated No. 15 Grace Timmons. 

CMU closed the night on a high note at 207 as No. 20 Christina Page earned a win by fall, but Missouri Valley had already done enough to secure the 28–21 victory.

Central will continue Heart of America dual action against Baker University Thursday, Jan. 29 at 6:00 p.m. in Baldwin City, Kansas.
