Eagles Cruise Past William Woods on Senior Night

Faytte, Mo. - The No. 16 Central Methodist women's wrestling team celebrated Senior Night in emphatic fashion, defeating William Woods 42–6 Wednesday evening in Puckett Fieldhouse.

Prior to the dual, the Eagles recogized Zoey Mzeru, Emily Neumann, Christina Page, and Nonnie Justice as part of senior night recognition.

The Eagles set the tone early, as Mzeru, who is ranked No. 20 nationally, and No. 10 Yusneiry Agrazal each earned victories by forfeit at 103 and 117 pounds, respectively.

CMU continued to roll at 110 pounds when Camilla Delgado secured a fall over Candace Calvert at the 5:08 mark. No. 14 Berlin Kiddoo followed with another forfeit win at 124.

At 131 pounds, No. 18 Justice cruised past her opponent, earning a win by a 10–0 technical fall. Neumann kept the momentum going at 138 with a 13–2 tech fall victory over Stevie Lupo.

William Woods picked up its lone points of the night at 145 due to an open weight class for CMU.

The upper weights belonged to the Eagles. No. 2 Allyssa Johnson needed just 42 seconds to pin Erika Brokovich at 160, while No. 14 Grace Timmons was even quicker, recording a fall in 37 seconds over Dejainette Wallace at 180. Closing the dual in style, No. 20 Christina Page posted an 11–0 technical fall win against Brooklyn Jackman at 207.

The Eagles are now 3-1 in duals so far this season, all coming in Heart of America action.

Central returns to tournament action, taking part in the Cliff Keen Invitational Saturday, Jan. 17 in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. Wrestling is set to start at 9:00 a.m.
