Kansas City, Mo. - Central Methodist Freshman Women's Wrestler Caitlyn Davis was tabbed as the NAIA National Women's Wrestler of the Week by the national office Wednesday morning.
This marks the second time that Davis has earned national honors, as she was also recognized back on Nov. 23.
Davis, the No. 1 wrestler in the country at 155 pounds, posted a 5-0 record at the highly competitive NWCA National Duals Jan. 6-7 in Lousville, Ken.
The native of Hilton Head Island, S.C. picked up dual victories over the No. 18, No. 16, and No. 7 wrestlers in the NAIA at 155 pounds, and a win over No. 6 at 143-pounds. Three of her five victories came via a 10-0 Tech Fall.
As a team, the Eagles posted a ninth place standing at the Duals.
Davis and the Eagles are set to compete in the York Open Saturday, Dec. 14 at 9:00 a.m. in York, Neb.
