Eight Women's Wrestlers Nationally Ranked

Eight Women's Wrestlers Nationally Ranked

Kansas City, Mo. - Eight members of the Central Methodist Women's Wrestling team were individually ranked in the third edition of the NAIA Women's Wrestling Coaches' Top 20 poll.

Freshman 155-pound grappler Caitlyn Davis is No. 1 in her weight class for the second consecutive ranking. Caitlyn Thorne (3rd - 116), Jaycee Foeller (5th - 191), Hannah Hall (7th - 116), and Skye Realin (8th - 136) also land in the Top 10 of their respective weight classes.

Allison Hynes (15th - 123), Victoria Nunez (15th - 109), and Corinne McClure (18th - 130) are also ranked.

As a team, Central remains in the Top 10 at No. 10. They are joined in the poll by No. 2 Grand View, No. 11 Iowa Wesleyan, No. 14 Missouri Valley, No. 18 Baker, and No. 19 Waldorf.

The program will next compete in the highly touted NWCA National Duals beginning Friday, Jan. 6 in Louisville, Ken.

Poll Methodology

  • The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the five conferences.
  • Two days prior to the national poll, each qualifying group rater submits the top six individuals from each weight class in his conference into the system. Only wrestlers listed on a conference ballot are considered for the national ballot.
  • The top 20 individuals in each weight class is based on how each voter ranks the best individuals. An individual receives 20 points for each first place vote, 19 for second place and so on through the list. This same point system is used to determine the team ranking.
  • The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot
  • Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes."
