Kansas City, Mo. - After a stellar showing at the Missouri Valley Open Saturday, Central Methodist Freshman Caitlyn Davis was named the NAIA National Women's Wrestler of the Week by the national office Wednesday.
She becomes the first National Wrestler of the Week in CMU history.
The native of Hilton Head Island, S.C. finished third in the 155-pound weight class at the MVC Open, collecting wins over No. 2 Kaylynn Albrecht of Baker, as well as No. 3 Randi Robison of Campbellsville (Ky.).
Overall, she finished the tournament with a 6-1 record, with three of her six wins coming via Technical Fall.
Davis and the Eagles will next compete in the Missouri Collegiate Open Saturday, Dec. 3 beginning at 8:00 a.m. in St. Louis, Mo.
