Des Moines, Iowa – The (RV) Central Methodist women's wrestling team took part in the inaugural Viking Open, hosted by Grand View University Saturday morning in Des Moines, Iowa.
The 23 team tournament featured schools from 12 different states including fellow Heart Members Baker, Grand View, Missouri Valley and William Penn.
Savannah Kiddoo, Cora Johnson, Da'Viona Bonner, and Nevaeh Cassidy all competed for the Eagles.
Kiddoo competed in five matches and finished the day with a 3-2 record in the 116-pound weight class. After falling in her opening match and receiving a bye, Johnson defeated Angelica Garcia of Wayland Baptist by Tech Fall, before dropping her final match of the day at 123-pounds.
Bonner also competed in the 123-pound weight class, earning two byes and picking up a win by Tech Fall over Autumn Branson. Cassidy had the top performance of the day for Central, posting a 4-2 record en route to a fourth-place finish at 143-pounds. Three of Cassidy's four wins came via Tech Fall.
