Fayette, Mo. – Five members of the Central Methodist University Women's Volleyball program were recognized with Heart of America All-Conference honors, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
It marks the eighth straight season the Eagles have had at least five players earn all-conference recognition.
Senior outside hitter Joana Milho headlined the CMU selections with first team honors. She was joined by second team honorees Luciana Araujo and Martina Gonzato, while middle hitters Hailey Dreier and Summer Hake earned spots on the third team.
Milho, now a two-time first team selection, has been a consistent force for the Eagles, starting 30 of 31 matches this season and appearing in 105 total sets. She recorded double-digit kills in 17 matches and reached 1,000 career kills on October 29 against Columbia College. Milho also posted a career-high 24 digs versus Mount Mercy on Oct. 4 and finished the season with a team-leading 47 service aces.
She finishes her career as a four-time all-conference selection and is fourth all-time in program history in career kills with 1,043.
Gonzato earned second team honors for the second consecutive year. The junior from Vicenza, Italy appeared in all 31 matches, hitting .238 and averaging 2.69 kills/set. She delivered a standout performance against the Pirates in Parkville on Oct. 25, tallying 21 kills with a .304 hitting percentage.
Araujo joined Gonzato on the second team, earning all-conference recognition in her first season with the program. Appearing in all 31 matches and 103 sets, the junior from Pedro Leopoldo, Brazil finished the season hitting .249 with an average of 2.10 kills/set. Her best outing came on Nov. 1 against Peru State when she registered 13 kills while hitting .579.
Dreier captured her first-ever Third Team selection after an impressive senior campaign. She led the team in hitting percentage at .321 while averaging 1.74 kills/set across all 31 matches. The Burbank, Washington native turned in her best performance against Bethel, registering 15 kills and hitting .650.
Hake, also earned all-conference recognition for the first time in her career, proving to be a force in the middle. She appeared in 85 sets, hitting .286 while averaging 1.44 kills/set. The Jefferson City, Missouri native was named Heart Defender of the Week on Nov. 3, helping the Eagles to a 5-0 record on a one-week stretch with 23 blocks and a .405 hitting percentage during that span. She also posted a season-high 10 kills on Sept. 9 against Ottawa.
Central finished the year with a 23-8 record and a 13-5 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
