Lexington, Ken. - Volleyball programs from across the country continue to prove their dominance off the court, as a record-breaking 1,450 collegiate and high school volleyball teams earned the AVCA Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
For the fifth straight season, the Central Methodist Volleyball program earned the award from the AVCA.
The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.
This marks the ninth time in the last 10 seasons that Central has earned the distinction. They were recognized for four consecutive years from 2016 to 2019, and now, for five straight years from 2021 to 2025. As a program, the Eagles finished the year with a final team GPA of 3.65
On the court, Central finished 2024 with an overall record of 26-8, a Heart Regular Season Championship, and an appearance in the NAIA National Tournament for the seventh straight year.
