Kansas City, Mo. - For the first time in 2023, Central Methodist senior libero Krystal Brauner was named the Heart Women's Volleyball Defender of the Week by the conference office Monday.
The native of Jefferson City, Mo. averaged 5.67 digs and 1.07 assists/set in four matches at the Bellevue Labor Day Classic in Nebraska this past weekend.
Against (RV) Loyola in the tournament finale, she racked up 41 total digs, averaging 8.20 digs/set in the five set slugfest. Central finished the tournament with a 2-2 record.
Brauner and the Eagles will begin a heavy home schedule in September, starting with a home triangular against Southwestern College and Hannibal LaGrange this Friday at 3:00 p.m. in Puckett Field House.
