Fayette, Mo. - In a battle of two nationally ranked programs, the No. 15 Central Methodist Volleyball program fell in a five-set thriller to No. 4 Park University by scores of (20-25, 25-20, 25-22, 17-25, and 6-15) Tuesday night in Puckett Field House. 

With the defeat, Central falls to 7-3 and 1-3 in conference play, while the Pirates improve to 8-3 and 2-0 in the Heart. 

Callie Henson collected a double-double with a team leading 17 kills and 10 digs. She also tallied four block assists and three solo blocks. Delaney Miller added 12 kills on 29 swings for a .310 hitting percentage. 

Marina Alonso dished out a season-high 38 assists paired with 12 digs, good enought to earn a double-double. Alonso also eclipsed the 2,000 career assist mark, beginning with her time at Laredo College, Florida Southwestern State College, and now at Central Methodist. 

Yenne Schepers followed with 18 assists, and five total Eagles reached double-digit digs, in addition to Henson and Alonso. Krystal Brauner led all players with 18, and Annabelle Maassen followed with 15 digs and Shea Luby 10. 

CMU will look to bounce back with a matchup against Baker University Friday, Sept. 16 at 7:00 p.m. in Puckett Field House.
