Fayette, Mo. - The No. 15 Central Methodist Volleyball program began Heart play with a 3-1 victory over Evangel University Tuesday night inside Puckett Field House. 

With the win, Central improves to 7-1 and 1-0 in conference play. The Valor fall to 5-7 and 0-1 in the Heart. 

After Central claimed a 25-20 first set victory, Evangel stormed back to tie the match at 1-1 after a 25-20 win in the second. CMU responded in the final two sets, taking set three 25-18 and the fourth set 25-22. 

It was a struggle for both teams offensively this evening, as Central hit just .128 compared to Evangel's .090. Rita Campos led the offense with 10 kills and a .269 hitting percentage. 

Reigning Heart Attacker of the Week Callie Henson finished the night with 12 kills, four digs, and three block assists. Krystal Brauner tallied 25 digs, while Annabelle Maassen added 18. 

Marina Alonso dished out 24 assists, followed by Gabi Owczarek's 20. 

Freshman Joana Milho tallied four block assists and a solo block, followed by Henson and Delaney Miller with three each. 

Central will head out on the road for a two-game swing this weekend, beginning with Grand View Friday, Sept. 9 at 7:00 p.m. in Des Moines, Iowa.
