Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist volleyball team opened its Heart Tournament run with a three set sweep of William Penn University by scores of 25-23, 25-12, and 25-18 Saturday afternoon inside Puckett Field House. 

With the win, Central advances to the Heart semifinals for the fourth-straight season, while the Statesmen end their 2021 campaign with a final record of 18-12. 

Jordan Wolfe led the offense with 14 kills on 23 swings, good enough for a hitting percentage of .522. The duo of Yenne Schepers and Marina Alonso dished out 21 and 14 assists respectively. Krystal Brauner led the defense with 14 digs and Delaney Miller recorded five blocks, followed by Callie Henson with four. 

Overall, the Central defense finished the afternoon with 14 total blocks and held the Statesmen to a .053 attacking percentage, which included 26 errors. 

The Eagles also recorded seven total service aces, as Sydni Basler, Shea Luby, and Schepers each tallied two while Annabelle Maassen picked up one. 

Central will travel north to face Grand View University in the semifinals Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 7:00 p.m. in Des Moines, Iowa. The Eagles won the regular season matchup between the two sides in straight sets back on Oct. 7 inside Puckett Field House.
