Kansas City, Mo. - After a record-breaking weekend, junior libero Krystal Brauner was named the Heart Volleyball Defender of the Week for the third time this season.
The Jefferson City, Mo. native was also recognized back on Oct. 25 and Sept. 13. In two sweeps over Heart North Division foes, Graceland and Peru State, Brauner tallied 40 digs and picked up four service aces this weekend.
She also dished out nine total assists. Brauner broke the school record for career digs with her 18th dig against the Bobcats. She broke the previous record of 1511, set by former Eagle Darcy Latham (2014-17).
Through nearly three full seasons, Brauner has recorded 1518 total digs in 91 matches and 396 sets. She has averaged 4.75 digs/set and 16 digs/match.
Central currently boasts an overall record of 26-5 and 16-2 in conference play. They will conclude the regular season with a match-up against Evangel University Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 7:00 p.m. in Springfield, Mo.
