Fayette, Mo. - The No. 11 Central Methodist volleyball program completed another sweep, this time over Heart North Division foe No. 24 Grand View University by scores of 25-22, 25-9 and 25-17 Thursday night inside Puckett Field House
Central pushes its win streak to three matches, and improves its overall record to 18-3 and 9-1 in Heart play. The Vikings drop to 12-10 and 8-2 in the conference. This marks the third consecutive match the Eagles have defeated Grand View, having done so in last year's Heart Tournament semifinals and the Heart championship game in 2019.
After claiming a narrow victory in set one, the Eagles established dominance in the second set, leading by as many as 16 points en route to a 25-9 victory. Central then closed out the match in set three, 25-17.
Callie Henson led the offensive attack with 11 kills on 21 swings, good enough for a hitting percentage of .476. Grace Unnvik was the second and final Eagle to land in double figures with 10 kills on 16 attempts.
Jordan Wolfe nearly cracked double-digit kills with eight while Annabelle Maassen followed closely behind with seven kills. Marina Alonso and Yenne Schepers were nearly identical in assists with 19 and 18 respectively.
Krystal Brauner led the defense with 18 digs, followed by Maassen with eight. Wolfe tallied five blocks including a solo block, while Unnvik collected four and Delaney Miller three.
The Eagles remain at home for a matchup against William Penn Friday, Oct. 8 at 7:00 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
