Fayette, Mo. - The No. 2 Central Methodist volleyball program will host No. 3 William Penn in the quarterfinals of the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament Tuesday night inside Puckett Fieldhouse, with the first serve set for 6:00 p.m.
The Eagles concluded the fall season ranked in the top 20 nationally in four different statistical categories including No. 13 in both assists/game (12.660), and blocks/game (2.470), No. 15 in kills/game (13.770), and No. 16 in hitting percentage (0.241). Central's lone contest of the spring this season came against Ottawa University back on Feb. 22, falling in five sets; 25-15, 18-25, 20-25, 25-15, 15-8.
William Penn enters the conference tournament as the No. 3 seed in the North Division, holding a 17-8 overall record including an 8-4 mark in conference play. The Statesmen have opened the spring season with four matches throughout the month of Jan. and Feb., defeating Trinity International, Judson, and Cumberland, and falling to No. 25 Columbia.
