Springfield, Mo. - The No. 10 Central Methodist volleyball program defeated Evangel in a thrilling five-set match by scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-18, 27-29, 15-9 Tuesday night in Springfield, Mo. 

With the win, the Eagles improve to 7-2 overall and 5-2 in Heart South Division play. Evangel falls to 10-2 and 7-2 in conference action. 

Jordan Wolfe led the offense with 15 kills, while Grace Staumbaugh added 14. Callie Henson and Delaney Miller added 12 and 11 kills respectively. Elise Hardesty-Irvin dished out a team-high 27 assists and a service ace. Shannon Peters wasn't far behind with 21 assists of her own.

Sophomore Krystal Brauner recorded 38 digs while Anna Wolf led the defense with seven block assists. Henson and Grace Stumbaugh each recorded four block assists. Overall, the Central defense held the Crusaders to a 0.090 hitting percentage.

Central returns home to host No. 5 Park University Friday, Oct. 30 at 7:00 p.m. inside Puckett Fieldhouse. The Pirates won the first matchup earlier this season in Parkville in straight sets.
