Fayette, Mo. - The No. 10 Central Methodist volleyball team defeated Missouri Valley College in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 29-17, and 25-20 Tuesday night in Puckett Fieldhouse. 

With the win, the Eagles improve to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in conference play, while the Vikings fall to 1-6 and 0-5 in Heart action. Tonight's win marks the sixth time this season that the Eagles have swept their opponent. 

Annabelle Maassen led a balanced CMU attack with seven kills and a service ace. Delaney Miller followed closely behind with six kills, while Anna Wolf, Jordan Wolfe, and Grace Staumbaugh each collected five. Elise Hardesty-Irvin also dished out a game-high 19 assists to go along with nine digs, nearly giving her a double-double.

Krystal Brauner led the defensive charge with 11 digs. Lici Mixson recorded three block assists and a solo block, as the Eagles finished the evening with eight team blocks compared to five for MVC. The CMU defense forced the Vikings to just a .124 hitting percentage. 

The Eagles remain at home this weekend with a two-day tournament beginning with a matchup against Clarke on Friday, Oct. 2 at 7:00 p.m. in Puckett Fieldhouse.
