No. 21 Volleyball Triumphs in Road Conference Matchup

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. — The No. 21 ranked Central Methodist volleyball team hit the road on Tuesday night and earned a 3-0 sweep over Baker.

The Eagles won by a score of 25-20, 25-17, 25-20.

As a team, Central Methodist hit .340, aided by the precise passing of Shannon Peters (SO/Waverly, Mo.), who recorded 29 assists.

Marija Janjusevic (SR/Belgrade, Serbia) had 12 kills and hit .500, while Mariana Do Nascimento (JR/Salto, Sao Paulo, Brazil) had 11 kills and sported a sparkling .647 hitting percentage.

Defensively, the Eagles were led by Viviane Viana (JR/Barueri, Sao Paulo, Brazil), who had 19 digs, and Alma Flores (SR/Tijuana, Mexico), who recorded 12 digs.

The win moves the No. 21 Eagles to 20-3 overall, and 10-2 in Heart play.

Next up for Central Methodist is a short trip to Columbia, Mo. for the Columbia College Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 13. The Eagles are scheduled to face William Woods at 11 am, and No. 23 Montana Tech at 3 pm.
