Chicago, Ill. – The Central Methodist University volleyball team finished play in the Roosevelt Quad on Saturday afternoon, against the University of Rio Grande, and the Saint Louis College of Pharmacy. CMU won their respective matches by final scores of 3-1 and 3-0.
With the victories, Central Methodist improves to 14-3 on the season. The Eagles have now won three straight matches, after seeing their eight match winning streak get snapped earlier in the week.
"We are very pleased with our results this weekend," said CMU head volleyball coach Allison Jones-Olson. "We played tough in both matches today and had big contributions from a lot of girls. We are excited to start conference play next week."
In Central's first match on Saturday, they faced the University of Rio Grande from Ohio at 10am. CMU came out a little sluggish and dropped the first set 20-25. The Eagles would not drop another set the rest of the day, defeating Rio Grande in the next three sets by finals of 25-21, 25-14, and 25-18.
