SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Friday that Central Methodist's Jordan Jackson, Dana Peters, Ali Schmucker and Julia Weber are among 455 volleyball student-athletes that have been named 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes. Peters earns the honor for a second-straight season.
Jackson, a senior outside hitter from Blue Springs, Mo., sports a 3.50 grade point average (GPA) in accounting.
Peters, a senior right-side hitter from Waverly, Mo., has a 3.71 GPA in accounting.
Jackson and Peters were All-Heart of America Athletic Conference selections in 2014.
Schmucker, a senior outside hitter from Baxter Springs, Mo., has a 3.97 GPA in psychology.
Weber, a junior middle blocker from Jackson, Mo., posts a 3.71 GPA in mathematics.
Concordia (Neb.) leads all institutions with 10 individuals on the list.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
