Volleyball splits two matches Saturday
HANNIBAL, Mo. - The Central Methodist University volleyball team split a pair of matches on the final day of the Trojan Classic. The Eagles (7-18) defeated Benedictine University-Springfield in three sets before falling to Clarke University in three.

The Green and Black defeated Benedictine-Springfield by scores of 25-10, 25-18 and 25-20. The Eagles' Makenzie Shepard totaled seven kills. Dana Peters had nine kills and two blocks. Julia Weber came up with four kills and three blocks. Katie Dozier had eight kills and two blocks. Sarah Lewey dished out 15 assists while also compiling six digs. Kristi Miller had six digs and two service aces. Hannah Babcock recorded six digs and two service aces.

Central Methodist lost to Clarke by scores of 19-25, 16-25 and 12-25. Shepard had eight kills to lead the offensive attack. Weber had five kills and two blocks. Miller recorded seven digs. Lewey came up with 13 assists and two service aces.

Central Methodist travels to Stephens College on Monday, Oct. 15. First serve is set for 7 p.m. CT.
