Box Score vs. College of the Ozarks
POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. - The Central Methodist University volleyball team lost two matches Saturday on the�final day of the Mazzio's Tournament. The Eagles (0-4) fell to�Ottawa University�and tournament-host College of the Ozarks.
Central Methodist lost to Ottawa in three games by scores of 12-25,15-25 and 13-25. Outside hitter Makenzie Shepard sparked the offense with�five kills. Defensive specialists Jennifer Garrett�and Hannah Babcock each tallied�six digs. Middle hitter Allie Slaton came up with six blocks. Setter Sarah Lewey dished out 13 assists.
The Eagles lost to College of the Ozarks in four games by scores of 15-25, 14-25, 25-22 and�16-25. Slaton led the team with seven kills and three blocks. Middle hitter Julia Weber recorded nine blocks. Lewey posted 19 assists, while fellow setter Kylie Melkersman had 10 assists,�seven digs and�two service�aces. Kristi Miller, a defensive specialist, had�nine digs and�two service�aces.
Central Methodist will open Heart of America Athletic Conference play at Benedictine College on Wednesday, Sept. 5. First serve is set for 7 p.m. CT.
