Kenny Anderson

Kenny Anderson enters his seventh season as the Director of Track & Field/Cross Country at Central Methodist University in 2026-27.

Since arriving at Central Methodist, Coach Anderson has established himself as one of the premier coaches in the NAIA. Known throughout the track and field community as Coach #CutTheCheck, Anderson has transformed the Eagles into a perennial conference and national contender. Under his leadership, Central Methodist has captured multiple Heart of America Athletic Conference championships, earned national rankings, produced national champions, and set numerous program records.

The 2025-26 season was one of the most successful in program history. Anderson guided the women’s team to a third-place finish at the NAIA Indoor National Championships, the highest national finish in program history. The outdoor season was no different. Anderson led the Eagles to Top 10 finishes on both the women’s and men’s side. The Men’s 7th place finish at the Outdoor National Championship was also the highest finish in program history. The Eagles also recorded 19 All-Americans, one National Runner-Up, and multiple Top-10 national finishes while continuing to establish themselves as one of the nation’s elite programs.

Known for his high-energy leadership, elite recruiting, and commitment to developing the whole student-athlete, Anderson has built a championship culture centered on faith, family, accountability, and legacy. His coaching philosophy emphasizes discipline, character, and the pursuit of excellence both on and off the track.

Before joining Central Methodist, Anderson spent two seasons as the Assistant Track & Field Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Johnson C. Smith University (NCAA Division II). During his tenure with the Golden Bulls, he coached 15 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) selections, two CIAA individual runners-up, and four New Balance All-Americans.

Prior to Johnson C. Smith, Anderson served as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Stetson University (NCAA Division I) and Lynn University (NCAA Division II) and also coached high school and club track & field.

Anderson continues to elevate the Central Methodist program with a vision focused on impact, growth, and leaving a lasting legacy by developing champions in competition and leaders in life.

A Florida native, Anderson earned his degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from Florida A&M University.
