Overland Park, Kan. - Central Methodist senior Shannon O'Neil was named the Heart of America Women's Outdoor Athlete of the Week by the conference office on Monday.
It marks the first conference weekly honor for O'Neil.
The native of Liberty, Missouri, finished second in the 400m hurdles at the WashU Invite with a new school record time of 1:00.30, hitting the A standard for national championship qualification.
Additionally, O'Neil posted a top-eight finish in the 100m hurdles, clocking a time of 14.84 seconds.
O'Neil and the Eagles return home to host the highly-touted CMU Invite April 2-3 at Davis Field and Hairston Track.
