New Orleans, La. - The Central Methodist Women's Track & Field program took home two regional honors from the USTFCCCA, which were announced last Thursday.
Senior Haley Bellamy was named the South Central Regional Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year, and Coach Kenny Anderson was recognized as the Regional Women's Indoor Coach of the Year.
Bellamy, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, is the No. 1 pentathlete in the country, tallying 3,732 points at the Saluki Fast Start in early December.
She has also been dominant in the high jump, having won the Heart Championship, clearing 1.66 meters on February 21st in Maryville, Missouri.
Anderson, who was named the Heart Women's Indoor Conference Coach of the Year for the fifth time, led the women to their fourth Heart Championship in the last five years, with 201 total team points highlighted by seven individual conference champions.
The women have produced four No. 1 showings in the national event squad rankings including the 600, 60m hurdles, high jump, and pentathlon. Coach Anderson is now a five-time regional women's indoor coach of the year honoree.
The Eagles are set to compete in the NAIA Indoor National Championships March 5-7 in Gainesville, Florida.
