Overland Park, Kan. - For the fourth consecutive week, a member of the CMU Women's Track & Field program was recognized as the Heart of America Women's Indoor Athlete of the Week by the conference office.
Freshman Akeelah Knox was named Indoor Athlete of the Week after a solid weekend at the Principia College Relays in Illinois.
The native of Pinehurst, North Carolina, won the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.60 seconds. The time met the 'B' standard for national qualification and is the No. 2 time in the NAIA season.
Additionally, Knox took seventh in the 60-meter dash out of 41 athletes in 8.04 seconds.
Knox and the Eagles will next compete in the Bearcat Invite, hosted by Northwest Missouri State University beginning Friday, Feb. 6 at 12:00 p.m. in Maryville, Mo.
