Kansas City, Mo. - The Central Methodist Women's Track and Field duo of Zakiya Porter and Haley Bellamy took home Heart of America weekly honors by the conference office Monday.
Porter was named the Women's Track Athlete of the Week, while Bellamy was tabbed as Field Athlete of the Week.
Porter, a native of Fulton, Missouri, posted a second place standing in the 60m dash at the Alexis Jarret Invitational Saturday with a time of 7.75 seconds.
Bellamy captured the long jump title, winning the event with a leap of 5.83 meters, and breaking her own school record along the way. Currently, the jump is the No. 4 mark in the NAIA this season. It is Bellamy's second time this season earning Heart Field Athlete of the Week honors.
Central is next slated to compete in the Coach Alsup Invite, hosted on the campus of Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Missouri Saturday, January 17.
