Fayette, Mo. - Starting off the New Year with a bang, Central Methodist senior Renee Finke took home the first Heart of America Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award of indoor season Monday.
The native of Montgomery City, Missouri broke the school record in the high jump at the Alexis Jarrett Invitational, which was hosted by the University of Missouri this past Saturday.
She cleared a height of 1.76 meters to hit the 'A' standard for national qualification. It is currently the No. 2 height in the NAIA this season.
The mark was previously held by both Finke and Delaney Miller, set during the 2024 season.
Finke and the Eagles will next compete in the Concordia Polar Dog Invite Friday, Jan. 17 in Seward, Neb.
