Maryville, Mo. - The Central Methodist Women's Track & Field program repeated as Heart Women's Indoor Conference Champions this weekend in Maryville, Mo.
The Eagles finished in first place with 179 total points. MidAmerica Nazarene was right behind Central, finishing second with 175 points.
Benedictine College rounded out the top three with 168 points.
Sophmore Gizel Clayton posted a second place standing in the 60m dash in a time of 7.76 seconds. Tre'Breh Scott and Clayton went 3-4 in the 200m dash in times of 25.35 and 25.59 seconds respectively. In addition, Scott finished second in the long jump with a jump of 5.38 meters.
Dayana Montenegro was crowed the conference champion in the 600m run with a time of 1:32.69.
Kjirsten Guilford placed third in the 800m run in a time of 2:22.31. She also earned a runner-up finish in the 1000m run in 3:04.07.
Yanira Paninka earned a gold medal in the 3000m racewalk in 16:39.32, followed by Baileigh Morris who placed third in a time of 17:08.30.
Gizel Clayton won the 60m hurdles in 8.53 seconds, while Tre'Breh Scott placed second with a time of 8.63 seconds.
The 4x400m relay team of Scott, Clayton, Montenegro, and Sakoya Johnson stood atop the podium with a first place finish in 3:52.40.
The 4x800m relay team made up of Madeline Wieseman, Natalie Garr, Yanira Paninka, and Guilford ran the event in a time of 9:30.44 to place second.
Delaney Miller was the conference runner-up in the high jump with a mark of 1.59 meters, while Carter Hawkins won the pole vault with a vault of 3.27 meters.
Freshman Baylee Beard earned a second place finish in the shot put with a throw of 13.42 meters. Karli Wolfe earned a bronze medal in the weight throw with a throw of 16.36 meters.
Renee Finke competed in the pentathlon, placing third with 3003 points.
The top three finishers in each event will be considered 2023 Heart Indoor Track & Field All-Conference athletes.
The Eagles will turn their attention to the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, set to take place March 2-4 in Brookings, S.D.
