Warrensburg, Mo. - The Central Methodist Indoor Track & Field program continued indoor competition at the UCM Mule Relays this past weekend in Warrensburg, Mo.
Freshman Baylee Beard had another stellar showing in the throws. The native of Centralia, Mo. posted a second place finish in the shot put with a mark of 13.51 meters. She also broke the school record in the weight throw at 17.04 meters. Both of her marks are Top 10 in the country and good enough to hit the 'A' standard to qualify for this year's NAIA Indoor National Championships.
Junior Karli Wolfe hit the 'A' national qualifying standard in the weight throw at 16.65 meters, a new school record until broken moments later by Beard. She would ultimately finish fourth in the event.
Renee Finke posted a second place finish in the pentathlon with a final score of 2,844 points, while Sakoya Johnson ran a new personal best of 8.02 seconds in the 60m dash, finishing fourth.
Dayana Montenegro finished third in the 200m dash in a time of 26.58 seconds, while Natalie Garr placed fourth in the 400m at 1:02.70. The duo of Kailey Johnson and Keiara-Ashley Cunningham ran the 600 yard run and posted 2-3 finishes in the event.
Yanira Paninka ran the 800m run in 2:28.91 to finish second. She was also part of the 4x400m relay team comprised of Montenegro, Johnson, and Jessica Bailey that placed first in a time of 4:07.14.
On the men's side, sophomore Josh Henderson finished third in the weight throw with a new PR of 16.75 meters. Fellow teammate, Colder Evans placed sixth, as he also hit a new personal best mark of 16.07 meters.
Brayton Stephenson finished third in the shot put with a throw of 14.59 meters. Evans followed with a fifth place standing at 14.47 meters.
Adam Trachsel posted a new PR of 7.01 seconds in the preliminaries of the 60m dash. The sophomore from Columbia, Mo. would ultimately finish sixth in the finals
Junior middle distance runner Doriye Jackson placed fourth in the 600 yard run with a time of 1:14.78. Meshack Kiptanui also placed fourth in the 800m run in 2:03.59.
Jackson, Jack Schiffhauer, Kaleb Bramman, and Zy'Shonne Cowans made up the 4x800m relay team that won the event in 8:30.96.
Jaxon Hiser competed in the pole vault, placing fourth with a vault of 4.40 meters. Jamel Jones earned a fourth place standing in the triple jump with a mark of 13.41 meters.
The Eagles will next compete in the Bearcat Invite beginning Friday, Feb. 3 in Maryville, Mo.
