Lawrence, Kan. - The Central Methodist Track & Field program opened its indoor season at the Bob Timmons Challenge Saturday morning in Lawrence, Kan.
The Eagles took a select few athletes to the University of Kansas before the full team begins competition next week.
Highlighting the day for Central was the women's 4x400m relay team made up of Dayana Montenegro, Tre'breh Scott, Kjirsten Guilford, and Gizel Clayton. The team placed third in the event with a national qualifying time of 3:59.36.
Carter Hawkins took part in the Women's Pole Vault, where the sophomore vaulted just over 10 feet to earn a sixth place standing.
The duo of Ethan Smith and Jaxon Hiser competed in the Men's Pole Vault. Hiser, a freshman from Butler, Mo., jumped a personal best of 14-01.25 feet, a foot higher than his previous best. Smith also set a personal mark 13-01.50 feet in the event.
Central will make its debut as a team at the Crimson & Gold Invite beginning Friday, Dec. 9 in Pittsburg, Kan.
