New Orleans, La. - The Central Methodist women's outdoor track & field program landed at No. 16 in the first edition of the NAIA Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Rating Index for the 2021 season, released Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Other Heart schools featured in the Top 25 are No. 15 MidAmerica Nazarene, and No. 20 Grand View.
Concorida (Neb.) took the top spot with 408.18 points, followed by Southeastern (Fla.) at No. 2 (349.54), Indiana Tech (341.36), Wayland Baptist (Texas) (266.74), and William Carey (Miss.) (236.63).
The Eagles have competed have transitioned well from indoor to outdoor, competing in two meets in the month of March including the CMU Open and the Baker Relays.
Two Eagles have already booked their trips the NAIA National Championships in Gulf Shores, Ala., including senior distance runner Lisa Sauter, who qualified in the Half-Marathon. Freshman Kailey Johnson also qualfied in the 100m hurdles.
Central will continue outdoor competition with the CMU Invite on April 2-3 at Davis Field.
