Kansas City, Mo. - Central Methodist Senior Defender Alicia Zamora was tabbed as the Heart Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week by the conference office Monday.
It marks the first Heart Player of the Week honor for Zamora this season.
The native of Valladolid, Spain led the Eagles to a 2-0 record last week, including a victory over No. 16 John Brown University Saturday afternoon. Against the Golden Eagles, Zamora scored the game winning goal on a penalty kick in the 75th minute.
She also converted a PK against Missouri Baptist on Labor Day.
Zamora and the Eagles are currently at 4-1, and will remain at home to host No. 24 Campbellsville (Ky.) Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 5:00 p.m. at Davis Field.
